Private Italy Tour or Package Tour? How to Choose

There are two ways to tour Italy: a package tour with a fixed route, or a private programme built around your dates, cities and pace. We compare both, suggest a 7-day Rome, Florence and Venice route and share ticket and booking tips.

Short answer: A package tour suits first-time visitors on a fixed budget who don't mind a large group. A private programme suits families, travellers with children or older parents, and anyone who wants to set their own pace or make time for a particular museum, match, shopping or business meeting.
